We want to share an important update regarding the intersection of Minnesota Highway 56 and Goodhue County Road 9—a location where we’ve recently responded to multiple serious accidents.
Nerstrand Fire & Rescue, in partnership with Northfield Hospital EMS Chief Edwards, has formally submitted a letter to MnDOT District 6 requesting a safety review and evaluation of this intersection. This letter was also shared with local and state elected officials, including Senator Lieske and Representatives Roach, as well as our local government leaders.
We are currently working with MnDOT to provide incident data, firsthand experiences, and responder insight as they assess the area. This is the first step toward making lasting safety improvements—and your safety is our top priority.
